Crack
2000
Duration: 3:28 looped video

In the video Crack, Louise Noguchi performs as an assistant in a wild-west act, holding up flowers that eventually will be cut off in mid-air. Each flower in the video is held up with determination and apparent mastery over the situation, evoking notions of death and continuance each time they explode.

Crack, is part of the Language of the Rope Series (1998-2005), which stemmed from my lessons in trick-roping, bull-whip cracking, knife-throwing and trick riding. Videos in this series include Crack, Rope Tricks, When You Fall Off Your Horse and Study/Sketch.
